2006 Southeast Top Prospect Showcase
Justin Snider is a 2007 C/3B/2B with a 5'10'', 181 lb. frame from Alpharetta GA, who attends Chattahoochee HS. He has a live athletic body with good present strength. Snider appears to be equally comfortable either behind the plate or in the infield on defense. He threw 74 mph on defense with a best pop time of 2.06. Snider received the ball well and showed good agility, although his hands were a bit hard on balls up in the zone. He showed quick actions at second base and moved to balls well. He has the physical ability and skills to play both positions at the next level. Offensively, Snider hits from a spread, no stride approach with a quick, short swing. He works the ball around the middle of the field and made consistent hard line drive contact. He has nice bat speed and hand strength at contact. Snider's approach should produce a high batting average and some gap to gap line drive type of power. He runs well on the bases and can take an extra base if given the opportunity. His versatility should be an asset at the next level. Snider is also an excellent student.
