Matthew Bedford is a 2020 SS/RHP with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Staten Island, NY who attends St. Peter's Boys. Medium frame with projectable, athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.37 seconds. Hits from even-based stance with leg lift trigger, loads hand back, good lift in swing with bat speed, found the barrel to all fields, covers the plate well and shows good hitting instincts, projectable bat. Worked out in the infield, hands work well to both sides, works through the ball, looseness to arm stroke, clocked up to 89 mph across the diamond. Also pitched, longer arm stroke with stab through back, hands over head into delivery, some effort there, fastball worked 81-85 mph with good life to the arm side, shows curveball with 11/5 shape and good spin with power depth, also mixed in a slider. Very good student, named to 2018 Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List.
