Drue Hirth is a 2020 C/RHP/3B with a 6-1 187 lb. frame from Tomball, TX who attends Cypress Community Christian HS. Large frame, athletic build with present strength, 7.08 runner in the 60. Primary catcher who shows soft hands and clean transfers behind the plate, gains ground well creating online and accurate throws. Starts from an open and upright stance with a slightly lower hand set, slight weight shift into contact. Has present strength in a swing that creates lift and flashes raw power. Middle-of-the-field approach with ability to use the whole field with a repeatable well timed swing. Also pitches, easy delivery with a strong lower half that displays solid direction with a slight crossfire step to the plate. Arm is clean and repeats his release point through a high 3/4 arm slot, shows a feel for filling the strike zone with an extended release out front. Fastball sits in the upper 70's topping at 79 mph, with slight arm side run. His command of the fastball is well above average and he creates good plane with it. Curveball shows tight spin and down action with 11/5 shape. Displays the ability to throw quality strikes with both pitches and higher potential on the mound in the future. Good student.
