Noah Nelson is a 2019 1B/RHP, 3B with a 6-4 225 lb. frame from Louisville, KY who attends St. Xavier. Large frame with long limbs and present strength. Primary first baseman with smooth, deliberate footwork while working to and centering the baseball. Funnels out front with clean glove actions and worked through exchange with loose glove to hand transfers. Generated accurate carry across the infield topping at 83 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and reaching front side trigger. Created some linear shift into contact with lower half. Throws barrel well on a naturally lifted path through extension. Swung with intent and produced loud, hard contact to each gap when squared. Also pitched utilizing a side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball generated some downhill plane through the zone with occasional run in the upper 70's, topped at 80 miles per hour. Tends to slow arm speed slightly with a breaking ball that showed 10/5 shape. Flashed good feel for breaking ball with the ability to pitch backwards when needed. Good student.
