Alex Markley is a 2017 3B/RHP with a 6-3 245 lb. frame from Mainville, OH who attends St. Xavier HS. Has an extra large frame, long limbs, broad shoulders, strong build, clear sign of present strength in body. Posted a 7.90 60-yard dash. Primary third basemen, worked out in the infield showing developing hands and footwork. Displayed good arm strength on accurate throws across the diamond getting up to 80 MPH. At the plate, right-handed hitter that starts with a hand drop load. Has strength, good barrel whip, and bat speed, takes aggressive swings looking to hit the ball with authority, ball really carries off the barrel, raw power to all fields. On the mound, has smooth and repeatable mechanics, balanced throughout delivery, generates momentum to the plate while incorporating lower half. Throws from a low, extended 3/4 arm slot, is loose and clean, small arm circle in the back. Fastball is heavy with arm side run. Curveball has 9/4 shape with sweeping action and good depth. Excellent student.
