Tommy Zente is a 2018 2B/OF, 3B with a 5-7 160 lb. frame from High Point, NC who attends Southwest Guilford High School. Small body, skinny frame, looks young, room to fill out. Primary infielder, short arm action, accurate throws, good first step, fields centered, some arm speed, some stab in the back, decent arm strength, decent hands. From the outfield, long arm action, throws on line, some carry to throws, some athleticism and range. On the mound, arm speed, online delivery, fastball has some cut, decent pickoff move, fastball topped out at 71 mph, 11/5 movement on the curveball, decent glove side mechanics, high three-quarter arm slot, fastball stays around the strike zone. Offensively, wide base, open stance, high hand set, high back elbow, toe tap for timing, simple swing to the ball, line drive plane, deep weight shift, gets the ball to all fields. Outstanding student.
