Landon Dorman is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 6-2 165 lb. frame from New Diana, TX who attends New Diana High School. Lean, athletic frame, projectable build with lots of room to continue to fill out physically. Primary right handed pitcher, showed a long arm action with a slight hook, landed online with good balance, and threw from an extended three quarter arm slot. Fastball worked best to the lower third and inside on right handed hitters with mostly true action and slight cut when getting glove side. Fastball sat 83-85 mph with the ability to garner swings and misses up in the zone. Command worked best to arm side, jerking body some to get glove side. Dropped slot for curveball thrown up to 69 mph with 11/5 shape and flashed sharpness. Showed good spin to curveball and would be more effective if thrown for strikes. Secondary outfielder, showed good footwork and the same strong arm shown on the mound with a long transfer and developing accuracy. Top outfield velocity of 88 mph. At the plate started with a simple load and stride to the ball with a toe tap timing mechanism. Short, compact swing to the ball, got rotational at times, inconsistent barrel with raw bat speed. Good student.
