Owen Coady is a 2019 LHP/1B with a 6-3 220 lb. frame from Larchmont, NY who attends Rye Country Day. Strong athletic build. Primary left handed pitcher. Employs a simple side step to a belt high leg lift staying slightly flexed at gather going to drop and drive actions down the mound landing online with the plate and staying online at finish. Utilizes a loose long arm action with some hook in the back going into an extended low three-quarter arm slot. Flashed a fastball with arm side run up to 91 miles per hour complemented by a very sharp lateral moving slider at 77 miles per hour and a big 11-5 curveball with good depth at 73 miles per hour. Showed the ability to throw all three pitches for a strike with good control. Displayed impressive fastball control to the outside half of the plate. Fastball gained some heavy actions in second inning of work. Great student. Committed to Pennsylvania. Named to the 2019 National Pre-Draft Showcase Top Prospect List.
