JD Woodall is a 2021 2B/OF, SS, RHP with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Lexington, KY who attends Lexington Catholic. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Ran a 7.08 sixty-yard dash. Primary second baseman with smooth footwork while rounding the baseball. Funnels out front and worked through exchange with fluidity. Flashed solid range to each side with the ability to throw while accuracy while on the run, topped at 77 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and simple leg lift trigger. Created some linear shift into contact. Direct hand path to baseball with a level, line drive barrel plane. Flashed good feel for the barrel with present bat speed. Repeated swing actions well and consistently worked to the middle of the field. Also pitched showing a simple rock step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Lands in line with the plate and carries momentum to glove side. Compact arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball came out of hand cleanly with some run to arm side, topped at 76 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with solid spin and good depth. Consistently challenged hitters to the bottom of the zone and induced weak contact. Excellent student.
