Taylor Floyd is a 2016 RHP/SS with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Frisco, TX who attends Frisco HS. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and a lean, athletic build with room to fill out with additional muscle mass. Good athlete, ran 6.88 60-yard. Primary right-handed pitch, short and clean arm action through the back side with a three-quarter release. Hides ball well behind hip, shows rhythm to delivery, loads on back side and drives to the plate. Ran fastball up to 86 mph, mostly true with occasional cutting life to glove side from release. Changes eye levels effectively. Showed a feel for breaking ball, shows depth with horizontal break at 78 mph. Still developing consistent feel for changeup at 76 mph. Short and quick arm action with a lower slot across the infield, comes out clean and shows quickness on feet up the middle. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance with square set up in box. Shows rhythm at plate, gets the barrel to it, uphill plane at contact and looks to lift, consistent contact to pull side. Good instincts on the bases. Projects well all around. Named to South Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
