Jorge Ignacio Mejia is a 2017 OF with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from San Juan, PR who attends Colegio San Jose de Rio Piedras. Smaller frame with present athleticism. Ran a 7.21 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder with quick feet and clean transfers. Throws straight over the top with good arm strength, recorded up to 85 mph, and good follow through on throws. Throws were all very accurate and were on a line with a clean angle of release. Wide stance at the plate with a high hand set and back elbow. Showed the ability to get the barrel of the bat onto the ball for line drives. Takes a small stride toward the mound into his swing and made sound, line drive contact to the opposite field.
