Andrew Jacob Barrera is a 2018 OF/3B with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Burbank, CA who attends Burroughs. Large frame with a solid, athletic build and present strength. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 7.37 sixty yard dash. Primary outfielder with smooth paced footwork while closing to the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling and working through exchange. Deliberated actions while working through transition and releases from a three-quarters slot. Baseball jumps out of hand well at release and shows some carry to the bag with accuracy, topped at 80 miles per hour. right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Rotational lower half actions to contact with occasional shift. Shoulder creates some uphill tilt at launch and barrel comes through the zone on a naturally lifted plane. Consistently squared contact and worked the baseball between to outfield gaps. Flashed power potential that will continue to develop with future implementation of lower half actions. Outstanding student as well.
