Mason Flood is a 2019 RHP/1B, 3B, OF, SS with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends Westwood. Long, athletic frame with a lean build with room to fill with additional strength. Primary right handed pitcher, started with a leg lift to belt, full, extended arm action, got extension out in front, and threw from a three quarter arm slot. Fastball worked 73-77 mph with occasional arm side life. Worked quickly and attacked hitters, getting inside and would see a tick in velocity with additional lower half. Showed feel for 12/6 shaped curveball with developing spin and depth, getting it over for strikes. Shows good arm strength in the infield, fielded out in front and funnels, with the ability to throw from different arm angles. At the plate, started with a wide stance, high hand set, and a leg lift timing mechanism. Showed power potential, present barrel feel, with loud contact off the barrel. Utilized a middle of the field approach, line drive swing plane with best contact coming to the opposite field. Exceptional student.
