Tanner Lund is a 2018 3B/OF/RHP with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Tomball, TX who attends Tomball HS. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and a strong lower half with room to fill out with additional strength. Ran a 7.67 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, active feet charging in on balls, fields out front, shows a quick arm with a short and compact path, comes out well and shows strength and carry across the diamond. Also pitched, works exclusively out of the stretch, short stride down the mound with similar compact arm action working to three-quarters arm slot. Moving parts to delivery add deception, leg lift up to belt, fastball topped at 78 mph and shows short running life and occasional cut. Flashes feel for curveball, slows arm action slight at release but creates 11-5 shape. Righthanded hitter, starts with a slightly open stance and does a nice job of getting closed at contact. Simple load moving into contact, good swing plane with present bat speed and fluidity. Pull side approach and contact, hard line drive contact coming off the barrel, occasionally gets around the ball, shows nice strength at present. Good student.
