Carson Young is a 2018 2B/RHP/3B with a 5-11 157 lb. frame from Fayetteville, NC who attends Village Christian Academy. Recorded a 7.49 60-yard dash. Medium frame with room to add to the build. Primary shortstop with developing arm strength and clean actions with the glove. Strong fundamentals in the outfield with deliberate actions and stayed on top of the baseball well. Three-quarter arm slot on the mound with a soft stab in the back of the arm action. Does not throw with a lot of effort and showed varying life on the fastball. Generated swings and misses with the pitch and he landed online following a leg lift at the belt. Spread open stance at the plate with a fly ball approach. Hands are in a good launching position and has a power approach that will improve as he continues to add size and strength. Great student.
