Johnny Richardson is a 2018 3B with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Broadlands, VA who attends Briar Woods High School. Medium build and frame, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.23 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary third basemen, funnels to field, clean backhand actions, and was aggressive to ball. Showed developing arm strength up to 81 mph across the infield. At the plate, started with an open stance, wide base, high hand set, high back elbow, and a leg lift timing mechanism. Line drive swing path with good bat speed. Generated leverage and carry off the barrel to pull side. Improved balance and consistency with weight transfer would let power translate more into game. Good student.
