Noah Baker is a 2018 C/1B/RHP with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Justin, TX who attends Northwest High School. Large build and frame, good size, present strength, and room to continue to refine further. Posted a 7.63 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, used a shorter arm action, compact release, side saddle start, and accuracy to the bag. Gained ground well with arm strength up to 76 mph and a workout pop time of 2.03. At the plate, started with a spread stance, slight crouch, and a larger leg lift timing mechanism. Used a power approach at the plate with a linear swing plane. Inconsistent timing at present with strength through the point of contact when squared. Will see more consistent results with improved timing. Also pitched, worked from the middle of the rubber, used a very long, loose arm action, big arm circle, and threw from a three quarter arm slot. Worked well through the ball and created occasional angle. Showed good tempo to delivery working over front side with limited drive. Fastball worked 77-79/80 mph and occasional cut when working glove side. Pitched effectively to contact in on hands of hitters. Also showed curveball with 11/5 shape and good depth up to 69 mph. Terrific student.
