Brian Asencio is a 5'6" 145 pound 2007 middle infielder from Pace High School in Miami, Florida. He has a smaller frame and build with good strength. Brian can really hit and has a quiet approach at the plate. He has a very good swing and uses his hands well to generate good bat speed. He makes solid line drive contact and is short to the ball. He has very good balance and gets the head to the ball. He shows good pitch recognition and very good power for his size. Asencio profiles very well at second base. He has nice footwork and very quick hands. He has good body control and is very adept at turning the double play. Brian is also an excellent student with a 4.37 gpa.
