Alex Schneider is a 2017 RHP/OF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Bloomington, MN who attends Jefferson. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 7.18 sixty yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher with a simple side step delivery to waist high leg kick. Creates a coiled front side that produces solid torque over back leg at gather. Utilizes lower half well driving to the plate creating occasional downward plane to the plate. Creates an extended arm circle back at separation and releases from a high three-quarters slot. Fastball has occasional sinking action down in the zone with running action in the upper 70's, topped at 79 mph. Curveball has 12/6 shape with tight rotation and solid depth when located down in the zone. Effectively filled the strike zone while challenging hitters. Flashed good command of the zone with the ability to reach each edge of the plate. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth footwork while working around and to the baseball. Clean glove actions while working through the baseball with efficient glove to hand exchanges. Extended arm circle back at separation and releases from a high three-quarters slot, topped at 82 mph. Throws generated good on line carry to the bag with accuracy. Right handed hitter with a narrow, upright stance. Build torque at load with a slightly coiled, wrapped top half. Hands launch to contact on an extended, loose path creating an uphill plane through extension. Consistently worked the middle of the field in batting practice, but flashed the ability to hit the ball the other way as well when hands stayed inside of baseball. Tools will continue to develop with maturity and fluidity.
