Alexander Devine is a 2017 OF/LHP with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Fairfield, CA who attends Angelo Rodriguez. Medium frame with young, athletic build and plenty of room for projectable growth and strength gains remaining. Ran very well, posting a 6.76 seconds 60 yard dash time. Hits from upright and balanced stance, toe tap trigger, some bat wag into barrel tip, handsy inside out swing path with opposite-field approach. Mechanically solid throughout swing mechanics. Aggressive on base paths, takes the extra base whenever possible. Shows solid actions in the OF, fields cleanly and gets through it well. Loose arm with good arm speed, showed good accuracy to both 3B and home with velocity up to 82 MPH. Pitched as well, showing short and quick arm action up to three quarters slot. Threw only fastballs, working in the mid 70's peaking at 75. Named to 2015 California Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student.
