Owen Janes is a 2017 OF/UT with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Temecula, CA who attends Great Oak. Medium, athletic frame with solid build throughout body and good room to continue filling out. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.17 seconds. Hits from balanced stance, toe tap trigger, hitches hands back into load with overall a lot of moving parts. Drops back shoulder a bit and creates uphill plane, does good job turning the barrel and driving the ball into the air with developing strength. Worked out defensively in the outfield. Shows solid footwork to and through the ball, transfers clean from glove to hand and shows relatively quick release. OF arm strength topped at 73 MPH. Pitched as well, showing shorter arm action to mid three quarters slot; FB worked 68-71 MPH with slight run to arm side. Leg lift delivery with some stiffness. Mixed in CB with 11/5 shape and quality depth. Very good student.
