Kevin Rosengren is a 2018 RHP/IF with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Round Rock, TX who attends Hutto HS. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength. Ran a 7.76 sixty yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher with a quick pace high leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Released from a three-quarters arm slot generating good extension through finish. Front side lands in line with the plate and carries momentum well through finish. Fastball flashed good life with solid downward angle to the bottom of the zone between 81-83 miles per hour. Curveball has 10/4 shape with solid rotation and good depth. Shows a good feel for curveball offering with the ability to deliver for strikes in positive and negative counts. Maintained velocity while working out of the stretch as well. Effectively pounded the strike zone and created quick, weak contact. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing compact, athletic footwork while working to and surrounding the baseball. Flashed some range to glove side as well with longer stride lengths. Clean glove actions while funneling the baseball out front with quick glove to hand exchanges. Compact arm action at releases that generated some on line carry across the infield topping at 73 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a simple, balanced stance. Lower half shows rotational actions with occasional shift into contact. Loose, extended barrel path that produced a line drive swing plane through extension. Handled that barrel well using a mid-field approach, flashed the ability to work to baseball to all fields when maintaining balance through finish. Barreled baseball through much of batting practice and will continue to develop with physical maturity and repetition. Outstanding student as well.
