Rhett Davis is a 2021 C/RHP, 3B, IF with a 5-7 170 lb. frame from Rochelle, GA who attends Wilcox County. Compact frame with a solid build. Shows beginnings of strength throughout frame. Primary catcher with a low, slightly side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains some ground while working out of crouch with clean footwork. Fluid, compact glove circle at exchange and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws produced on line carry to the bag topping at 67 mph, best workout pop time of 2.16. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple front side trigger. Worked to contact with rotational lower half actions. Clean hand path to baseball with a slightly lifted barrel plane through extension. Displayed solid feel for the barrel while employing a mid field approach. Looked to throw barrel head to contact and generated some loud jump off the barrel to the gaps when squared. Also pitched utilizing a side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Loose arm circle at separation and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball flashed some sinking action to arm side in the low to mid 70's, topped at 75 mph. Curveball created 10/5 shape with looser spin and occasional depth in the mid 60's. Effectively attack the zone with both offerings and induced weaker contact. Good student as well.
