Houston Koon is a 2019 SS/3B, OF, 2B with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Wilkesboro, NC who attends Wilkes Central High School. Medium build and frame, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.19 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, utilized a lower arm slot, clean actions, and lateral range. Good balance and accuracy on the move with developing arm strength. At the plate, a switch hitter who showed well from both sides. Started with a wide base, open stance, high hand set, high back elbow, and a toe tap timing mechanism. Showed a quick barrel through the zone with hand speed. Impact off the barrel with a line drive swing plane. Showed more power potential from the right side with additional carry off the barrel with a pull side approach. Exceptional student.
