Ben David is a 2017 IF/OF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Tacoma, WA who attends Bellarmine Preparatory. Large frame, athletic build with present strength throughout. Ran a 7.61 sixty-yard dash. Primary infielder, smooth fundamental footwork while surrounding the baseball. Effiecent glove actions while funneling the baseball out front with fluid glove to hand transitions. Smooth paced actions while working through transition and creating momentum to the bag. Release from a three-quarters arm slot that produces some carry across the infield with accuracy, topped at 72 mph. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth closing actions to the baesball with clean glove actions at pick up. Creates a deeper arm stab at separation and release from a three-quarters slot. Baseball comes out of hand cleanly creating on line carry to the bag, topped at 74 mph from the outfield. Right handed hitter with a slightly crouched, slightly closed stance. Rotational lower half actions to contact creating some shift. Extended path to contact with a line drive plane that creates some natural lift through extension. Stays balanced throughout swing with a mid-field approach. Creates very good extension and strength through the zone producing solid jump off the barrel with carry to the gaps. Good student as well. Tools will continue to develop with repetition and maturity.
