Nathan Mitchell is a 2019 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-4 170 lb. frame from Englewood, CO who attends Cherry Creek. Large frame with long limbs and lean, athletic build. Frame projects to support for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.36 sixty-yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher with simple side step to leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather and utilizes lower half while driving to the plate. Long arm action from a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball came out of hand cleanly with occasional running action in the mid to upper 70's, topped at 78 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with loose spin and occasional depth in the upper 60's. Looked to locate down in the zone and challenge hitters. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing clean footwork while surrounding the baseball. Funnels out front and worked through transition well. Released from a compact three-quarters arm slot producing accurate carry to the bag at 78 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance. Loose, extended path to contact with rotational lower half actions. Worked the barrel in and out of the zone quickly while turning the barrel. Primarily utilized a mid field to pull side, line drive approach. Very good student as well.
