2016 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Jack Fitzgerald is a 2018 1B/C with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from South Riding, VA who attends Freedom HS. Large frame with strong, athletic present build; solid projection as well. Sets up to hit from upright, open-based stance with lower hand set. Swings the bat hard with good intent, turns the barrel well and can work to the pull side with authority. Swing is naturally lofted, does a good job matching plane of pitch with barrel and driving the ball into the air with good strength and overall power. Worked out defensively at 1st base, shows good footwork both around and off of the bag, makes clean pivots on throws to 2B, showed solid arm strength across the diamond with throws clocked up to 75 MPH. Very good student.
