2019 PG South Top Prospect Games at Texas A&M
Jalen Davenport is a 2020 RHP/OF with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Klein Collins. Athletic build with good present strength. Simple side step delivery, loose fast arm that has some whip out front, loose wrist. Fastball topped out at 88 mph, has been up to 90-91 at previous Perfect Game events this year, has nice arm side running life on his fastball. Doesn't get out front nearly as well on his curveball, tends to cast it, can improve this pitch, flashed some 12/6 bite at harder velocities when out front. Also throws a slider, more potential with the curveball at present. Threw Saturday morning after playing cornerback at the 6A level the night before. Quality arm whose development will be keyed by improvement in his breaking pitches. Named to the South Top Prospect Games Top Prospect List.
