Austin Schmidt is a 2020 OF/ with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends Westlake HS. Medium frame with a projectable build and room to fill out and add strength. Primary outfielder with a long arm action in the back. Good momentum thorough his action with fluidity and accurate throws. Developing arm strength with deliberate overall actions and projects well at the position. Righthanded hitter with a spread, even stance. High hand set with a high back elbow and a slight hand coil near the back of his load. Linear weight shift through his lower half that allows him to get his weight behind the swing well. Inside hand path to contact with a line drive swing plane. Flashed some barrel feel and showed the ability to drive the ball well to the opposite field. Lets the ball travel deep and utilized an up the middle, line drive approach and mentality. Excellent student.
