Carson Russell is a 2021 C/OF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Cumming, GA who attends Denmark HS. Medium frame with a lean build and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary catcher with a balanced, athletic stance and soft hands while receiving the baseball. Gains ground well towards the bag with quick footwork. Worked through exchange quickly and generated accurate on line carry to the bag. Topped at 79 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 1.79. Switch hitter with an open stance from each side of the plate. Shifts into contact well with lower half. Displayed a clean hand path to contact with a linear barrel plane. Consistently worked to the middle of the field flashed solid jump to the gaps when squared. Named to the 2018 National Underclass Main Event Top Prospect List.
