JUSTIN J HERNANDEZ is a 2024 OF/1B with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Worcester, MA who attends Doherty Memorial. Medium frame with compact build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.55 seconds. Hits from narrow-based stance, hovers in load, wrapped top hand, drives lower half well through contact, middle-field approach with some jump off the barrel when square. Primary outfielder, developing feel for overall fielding actions including footwork and direction, clocked up to 77 mph on throws. Took reps at 1st base, deep trapdoor funnel, waits way back on the ball, also up to 77 mph across the diamond. Pitched as well, worked from the stretch, high 3/4 slot release with fastball worked 73-75 mph and up to 78 mph, flashed firm changeup with minimal action. Good student.
