Peyton Watts is a 2023 SS/RHP, 2B, 3B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Oxford, AL who attends Oxford. An athletic body with strength showing. Length throughout and athletic overall. Ran a 7.14 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop who threw from an over-the-top slot and threw firm across the diamond. Backhand looked the part and fields up the middle well. Funnels well into the throws, which came out firm at 88 mph and were on target. Great all around during his defensive reps. A left-handed hitter with slightly open feet to start and high set hands with a high back elbow. He gets his hands deep in the load. Closes the front side off as he loads. Produced some hard-hit balls and worked mostly pull-side. Had some whip to the barrel and bat speed that showed during his round of BP. He hit well in-game as well. He finished the day 5-for-5 through two games with a double and a triple to his credit. Found the barrel routinely and just churned out hits. Produced an 87 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Also took to the mound as a right-handed pitcher who showed off his strength and athletic frame. Had a small side-step into a leg lift at the belt. Had a full arm stroke on display with pretty loose & quick arm action. High front glove point. His fastball worked 82-86 mph and came out of the hand pretty well. He paired that with breaking ball with tight break. Had a firm changeup in the upper-70s that he cut a little bit. He struck out 2 opposing hitters over 2 innings of work, allowing just one hit. Troy commit.
