Jamar Fairweather is a 2020 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-2 215 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Westminster Christian. Extra large and sturdy frame with room to add for strength. Ran a 7.44 second 60 yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, well-paced delivery that will vary at times to mess with timing of hitters, rocker step into a belt high leg lift, breaks hands and drives off of the backside well, long arm action with arm speed up to a high 3/4 arm slot, repeats mechanics well with good balance. Commands both pitches well, fastball showed armside run up to 90 mph, curveball was a good pitch when released on top, 12-to-6 shape when on top and more slurvy actions when lowering slot, velocity dipped slightly from the stretch. Secondary corner infielder who took reps in the infield, bends at the waist fielding out in front, extra steps into release, some carry to throws, good arm strength across the diamond at 91 mph. Righthanded hitter, even stance with a high hand set, easy trigger into swing, fluidity to stroke with strength at impact and jump when squared, low effort swing with good rhythm and lower half involvement. Great student. Named to 2018 Jr. National Showcase Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to Florida International.
