Richard Cromartie is a 2024 3B/RHP with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from South Bend, IN who attends Penn. Medium build with square and narrow shoulders and plenty of room to add bulk. A primary third baseman, good positioning with the body as he has solid lateral range getting to his spot and squaring the ball up. Hands work and he can change his arm slot on throws. A switch hitter, that has the same narrow and upright set up from both sides. From the right side he has a hover floating load and getting into a good launch to turn tightly. The left-handed swing is loose and he lets the ball travel and works the opposite field. A secondary pitcher, showed good rhythm and a compact delivery. Over the top arm action with solid arm strength and a feel for a slurvy breaking ball that should develop into a go-to offering. Good two-way prospect. Very good student.
