Dalton Cole is a 2017 RHP/MIF with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Mansfield, GA who attends Morgan County HS. Medium frame with athletic, slender present build; body projects very well moving forward. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.13 seconds. Primary right-handed pitcher, pitched primarily with slider throughout his time on the mound. Throws from mid three quarters arm slot with solid arm speed, body and arm project for increases in velocity into the future, shows good athleticism and fielding ability off the mound. Fastball climbed all the way to 80 MPH, sitting between 76-80 MPH, thrown pretty rarely. Primary offering was the slider, thrown in the mid-upper 60's with good tilt and spin, definitely kept hitters off balance due to pitch selection. Sets up to hit from wide-based, open stance with low hand set and slight crouch. Line drive swing plane with good ability to use the entire field, showed willingness and ability to use the opposite field extensively. Worked out defensively in the infield. Choppy steps to the ball with good balance throughout, moves well side to side with range and surrounds the ball well, fields cleanly out front and works into crow hop efficiently. Throws from lower slot across the diamond, clocked up to 76 MPH. Very good student.
