Alex Erickson is a 2020 RHP/3B with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Westford, MA who attends St. John's Preparatory. Medium frame with slender, young build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.89 seconds. Hits from narrow-based stance with leg lift trigger, rotational lower half mechanics, has intent in swing. Line drive swing plane, shows loft to path with quickness in hands, lays barrel back on plane early, shows ability to get the ball into the air. Worked out in the infield; some balance to actions, fielded cleanly at times, arm strength clocked up to 73 mph. Engages back hip well in delivery, gets downhill well with good drive, short arm circle to overtop slot, fastball worked 69-73 mph with control to middle of zone. Showed curveball with gradual 12/6 break; worked in quality changeup with good deception off the hand and solid arm side fade. Very good student.
