Carl "Luke" Erdmann is a 2019 3B/RHP, 1B, 2B with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Vienna, VA who attends James Madison. Large build, lean and projectable frame with room to fill and grow with added strength. Ran a 7.72 60 yard dash. Primary third baseman, developing footwork with good range, short arm action on throws with average arm strength. Also pitched, works exclusively from the stretch, leg lift just below waist, loose arm action to an extended 3/4 arm slot, gathers well at balance point, good line and direction towards the plate, lands in line with the plate and clears the hips and lower half well, smooth and repeatable delivery, sound mechanics, good extension and releases out front. Fastball shows good life and jumps out of the hand, mixed in a 10-to-5 curveball with tight spin and good depth, good straight changeup with fading action and maintained arm speed, keeps the baseball down in the zone and challenged the strike zone. Righthanded hitter, wide base, high hands with a high back elbow, leg kick trigger, swings with intent and decent bat speed, showed the ability to turn the barrel over, looks to lift with potential power in swing. Excellent student.
