Jay Metts is a 2021 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Irmo, SC who attends Dutch Fork HS. Jay is a quick twitch athlete who shows sound fundamental skill and the frame that will allow for continued development as he matures. He ran a commendable 7.21 60-yard dash. On the infield, Jay shows confident actions. He moves well to position. His feet work well. He has a smooth glove and he transitions well. His 78-mph throwing velocity plays well on both sides of the infield. His throws show carry and accuracy. At the plate, Jay uses an open stance and carries his hands high. He is a middle-of-the-field, line drive hitter who consistently gets his barrel to the ball. He'll get some carry to the gaps because of the backspin he creates. Academically, Jay is an exceptional student!.
