Chad Rucker, Jr. is a 2021 C/RHP, 1B with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Lake Worth, FL who attends Park Vista Community. Medium to large athletic build with good physicality. Primary catcher, sets up in a conventional crouch and shows good softness to his receiving mechanics. Replaces his feet well, quick and clean transfer. Posted a 2.07 second pop time in the catching workouts. On the mound, has a short arm action from a high three-quarters slot. Turns closed at the top of his lift. Good rhythm and tempo on the hill. Fastball up to 82 mph with some late life to the plate. Throws a low 11-to-5 shaped slider with good vertical bite to the plate. Also mixes in a 75 mph straight change. Lives around the dish with his arsenal. At the plate, uses an upright and open stance with a stride trigger. Slightly elevated barrel plane through the zone, hands start high then work hard to get on plane. Middle to pull side approach. Great student in the classroom as well.
