2018 PG Top Prospect Games at Maryland
Patrick Coyne is a 2020 3B/RHP, SS with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Randolph, NJ who attends The Morristown-Beard High School. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength proportioned well throughout frame, strong lower half. Primary third baseman, fields the ball out front and works behind it well while getting low, moves well and will continue to refine footwork, works with a short arm stroke and gets to an over-the-top release point, comes through the ball well. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow in the box; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Barrel tilt at start but does a nice job of staying short and direct to the ball with a linear path through the zone. Remains balanced through swing and shows quickness to hands with occasional backspin and lift at the point of contact; swung it well in live action with contact to all fields. Excellent student. Named to the Top Prospect List.
