Tye Dye is a 2017 3B/RHP,/UT with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Leesville, LA who attends Hicks HS. Medium, square shouldered build with length to limbs and present strength proportioned throughout, some room to still fill. Ran a 7.76 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, fields the ball out front with two hands, takes an extra step at release, some moving parts at release but ball comes out cleanly from a lower arm slot, gets on top of throws and shows accuracy across. Also pitched, side step moving into delivery, full hand path with a higher leg lift up past belt. Full arm action through the backside, three-quarters arm slot and gets on top of the fastball well, topped out at 78 mph, mostly true in life. Fills up the zone, flashed 11-5 shape to curveball, feel for pitch developed, maintains arm speed well on changeup at 71 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a bent knee stance and a wide base, still start with bat on shoulder. Short shift through lower half, remains short and compact to the ball with swing path, shows feel for the barrel and uses a contact approach in the box. Front shoulder occasionally opens early, projects with additional strength to frame, comes off the barrel well when squared. Very good student.
