Ben Cruikshank is a 2018 LHP with a 6-4 162 lb. frame from Fairview Heights, IL who attends Belleville East HS. Very slender and tall build. Fast paced delivery with lots of deception, all arms and legs coming at the hitter, high front side coming forward with a high 3/4's arm slot, not consistent with his flow to the plate. Upper 80's fastball, touched 90 mph, mostly straight with good angle, gets on hitters quickly, primary fastball pitcher. Tends to lower slot on secondary pitches, big and slow curveball will show nice depth at times, change up has good arm speed and lots of running action but tips the pitch due to much lower arm slot. Lots of potential and raw talent, will have to walk the rope between toning down delivery for better command and potentially losing deception. Good student, signed with Missouri State.
