Ryan Cassidy is a 2018 RHP with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Plymouth, MI who attends Canton HS. Large, long frame with present strength throughout. Projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.77 sixty yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher with quick paced, compact delivery. Stays balanced at gather and shows a compact arm circle back at separation prior to releases from a high three-quarters arm slot. Utilizes lower half well while driving in line with the plate through finish. Fastball showed good arm side run with heavy sink at times between 78-81 miles per hour. Showed the ability to repeat arm action well with fastball offering and could work to each edge of the plate consistently. Curveball had 11/5 shape with tight rotation and solid downward depth at 72 miles per hour. Also flashed deceptive arm speed with a changeup offering at 75 miles per hour. Mixed pitches well and consistently kept opposing hitter off balance through each inning of work. Also worked out defensively from first base showing smooth paced footwork and developing glove actions. Releases from a three-quarters arm slot topping at 80 miles per hour, and created accurate carry to the bag. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Lower half has rotational actions to contact while hands fire on a loose, line drive plane through extension. Generated some leverage at contact when turning the barrel to baseball and working to the pull side gap. Tools will continue to develop with maturity and repetition. Very good student as well.
