Jared Young is a 2019 RHP/MIF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Louisville, TN who attends William Blount HS. Medium frame with a lean build. Ran a 7.17 second 60 yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins delivery with a simple side step up to a belt high leg lift, stays balanced at gather and works in line to the plate, utilized drop and drive actions working to the plate, takes arm back to a compact arm action up to a 3/4 arm slot. Fastball comes out of his hand cleanly staying pretty straight and topping out at 82 mph, mixed in a curveball with 11-to-5 shape and good depth, shows best feel and command for fastball offering and did a good job of filling the zone with the heater. Secondary middle infielder, sits back on the baseball, releases from a side arm slot, footwork is developing, average arm strength topping out at 78 mph across the diamond. Righthanded hitter, sets up with a spread out stance, long swing plane with consistency, leans back at load with a a clean follow through, worked mostly to the middle of the field. Outstanding student.
