Christian Canary is a 2019 OF/LHP, 1B with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Ferncreek, KY who attends Christian Academy of Louisville. Large frame with slender, athletic present build; good projection remaining. Ran 60 yard dash in 6.86 seconds. Switch-hitter, sets up from right side with relaxed stance, line drive swing plane with compact hands throughout swing, shows good ability to work the other way. Shifts well into swing from left side, quick in and out of the zone, very compact stroke overall, flashed contact ability. Worked out in the outfield, showed quality athleticism through actions and overall footwork, smooth arm stroke, throws clocked up to 79 mph. Also pitched; very short/compact arm stroke through the back, significant head violence at release, three quarters slot release, has funk and deception to delivery, stays compact. Fastball worked 69-74 mph with slight arm side life, showed curveball with varying shape, threw it for strikes to both sides of the plate. Solid command overall. Very good student.
