2006 Atlantic Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Justin Ferrell is a 2007 RHP/1B from Randolph-Henry HS in Red Oak, VA with a 6'5", 220 lb. frame. Justin has a great pitchers body and topped out at 85 at the showcase. He throws from high 3/4 arm slot with a long loose arm action that produces good sink and run on his fastball. Justin showed a slow curveball that needs to tighten up some and a good feel for a changeup. He has a free and easy delivery and should only throw harder as he gets older. At the plate, Justin showed some solid raw power potential. His swing right now though is pretty long and must be simplified to help him handle better pitching. He has clean infield actions and a strong arm at 1B. Justin is a solid student and looks to be a mid to high-level Division I prospect at this point.
