James Bilcik is a 2018 RHP/1B with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Nanuet, NY who attends Nanuet Senior High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lena, projectable build with room to fill. Ran a 4.12 30-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, gathers well on backside over the rubber, incoporates lower half well in drive towards plates, lands open with strike foot but helps generate life to fastball. Full arm action through the back and shows looseness, works to a lower three-quarters slot and creates some deception upon release. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, around the zone and able to create sinking life which induced ground ball contact. Maintains arm speed well on changeup at 71 mph with fading life, 10-4 shape to curveball at 65 mph with occasional depth from a slightly higher release point. Takes short steps coming off the first base bag in the infield, quick transfer into shorter arm action, hands play out front, shows carry out of the hand on throws. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow in the box, utilizes a toe tap trigger for timing. Strides into contact with lower half well, pulls hands back at start of swing, line drive swing plane through the zone. Contact approach and creates line drive contact when barreled, repeats swing nicely, projects with added physical strength. Good student.
