Dominic Szybka is a 2022 C/RHP, UT with a 5-4 117 lb. frame from Jacksonville, NC who attends Southwest. Small and young frame with plenty of time to continue to fill out. Ran a 7.77 second 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, side saddle start with a higher set position, showcased a quick transfer from glove to hand, stays low into release in an athletic position, compact arm action into throw up to a high 3/4 arm slot, developing arm strength that will only improve with added strength, 2.00 second best pop time. Also took reps in the infield, sits back on the baseball, hands play out in front, good footwork into release with a clean follow through to his intended target, topped out at 71 mph from across the diamond. Switch hitter, narrow stance with a leg lift trigger from the right side, flat bat path with some feel for the barrel, middle of the field approach. Similar flat bat path from the left side while hands stay on an inside path, needs to continue to get stronger for added bat speed and strength off of the barrel.
