Gabriel Ulloa is a 2018 RHP/1B, 2B, 3B, SS, MIF, IF, OF, UT with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Delano, CA who attends Delano. Medium frame with athletic, projectable present build. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.31 seconds. Primary pitcher, hands over head into delivery with big spine tilt, compact arm stroke through the back with high take back, gets to overtop arm slot with some extension through release. Fastball worked 80-83 MPH with consistent strikes. Showed curveball with 12/6 shape and quality depth; also flashed horizontal slider and straight changeup. Hits from closed-off stance, line drive swing plane through the zone with good shift into contact. Stays on plane well, stays committed to the middle of the field and shows good ability to square up line drives in that direction. Worked out all over the field. Fields out front in the infield and takes clean steps into release, throws downhill with solid arm strength up to 83 MPH. Lines up the ball well in the outfield and fields cleanly through it, made consistently accurate one-hop throws to target with arm strength clocked up to 84 MPH. Named to 2016 California Uncommitted Showcase Top Prospect List, very good student.
