Jarod Abram is a 2020 RHP/1B with a 6-3 225 lb. frame from Mountainside, NJ who attends Governor Livingston. Extra-large, athletic frame with broadness to shoulders and present physical strength proportioned well throughout. Ran a 7.83 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, quiet and compact delivery, deliberate mechanics with a short arm action working into a high three-quarters release point. Strides online down the mound, short effort at release; filled the strike zone and located fastball to both sides of the plate, topped out at 85 mph, shows running life and got on hitters quickly. Slider served as secondary offering, 11-5 shape with depth to it up to 74 mph with ability to miss bats and land for strikes early in count. Arm strength plays across the diamond from first base too, field the ball out front with glove and upright with actions, spins well off the bag and shows balance. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; barrel tilt at start, keeps hands inside the ball throughout swing. Simple trigger moving into contact, incorporates strength well and shows present bat speed through the zone, shows tools to project and grow into additional power; swung it well in live action. Good student. Named to Mid-Atlantic Top Prospect List.
